Yes, 17 years? Jayne and I began trading from a converted farm building 17 years ago. Since then our business has expanded again and again. We now have five employees, and 2500sqft workshop/stores.
In the beginning both Jayne and I trained as Motor mechanics in the same British Leyland Garage in Exeter Devon. In 1987 I was fortunate to get a dream job at a Lotus dealer, full Lotus factory training followed. It was a very steep learning curve.
The start of our business in 1989 was very well timed to coincide with the recession of that year. In 1992 we moved to our current premises in order to expand our parts & used car sales. Expand they have. We even purchased the entire stock and special tools from the Lotus dealer where I trained. 1998 saw us form a limited company. We hope that our parts sales brochures and Web site will enable us to help more customers in the UK and world-wide. In 2001 we were voted joint best Lotus specialist by the members of Club Lotus.
During the early part of 2003 the team developed. We have been joined my Neil and Ross. Ross is our mechanic and Neil works with me on parts.
Our Aims are to provide the Lotus owner with top quality service.
In the workshop we service, repair and restore all Lotus models from the type 14 Lotus Elite to the Esprit V8. We have chosen the Esprit range as our speciality. This is probably primarily because of our age, the late 1970's were our era, when we were young free and single. Bay City Rollers, Rod Stewart and all that!
Our specialist knowledge in the parts department enables us to provide the correct part first time. Our stock list is constantly increasing. We aim to provide a mixture of genuine Lotus and alternative parts based on quality and value for money. Our one-model brochures are unique in the Lotus world. We hope they will build into an extremely useful information source.
In the body/laminating shop we produce quality reproduction fibreglass body panels and sections.
